Otago Employment Agreement

Workers: If they are wrongly hired as contractors and not as employees, they may miss their minimum employment rights and their employer subsidy from KiwiSaver (NZ Resident) and ultimately pay taxes and VAC fees that they did not have to have. Collective agreements were negotiated between Otago Polytechnic and the tiASA staff unions (general staff only) and TFUE (all employees). Workers also have additional rights, such as the right to take a personal complaint. In addition, the employer must keep employee registrations, such as an employment contract and wage data. There are a number of employment contracts for different types of jobs: a contractor is a company that is mandated by a contractor (the other party) to provide services under a service contract (commonly known as an independent contract contract). Entrepreneurs may be independents, registered companies, individual entrepreneurs, partnerships or a limited liability company. They earn income by billing the client for their services. A contractor must pay his own tax and is responsible for paying VAC taxes. Contractors are not covered by labour law. They are not entitled to employment (such as paid leave) unless these rights are agreed as part of their contract. With a population of about 1.5 million, Auckland is New Zealand`s largest city.
